How many times have you looked in a modern or contemporary home and noticed that it looks a lot like an art gallery? Why not use this effect to it's full potential. If you are creating a contemporary living room, why not use this space as your own personal gallery to show off a special sculpture or piece of wall art. You can use lighting to visually point everyone's eyes towards the piece as soon as they enter the room. You can even arrange the furniture in the room so guests can take a seat and contemplate the beauty in front of them.
In a traditionally built house, the walls will most often be square, and symmetrical, with doors and windows placed at geometrically straight locations, in line with one another. More contemporary floor plans will usually call for an open space design, in which there are only a few walls, and most of the space flows naturally into itself.
Music note art is a perfect example of contemporary design with a little touch of your personal interest about music. This idea can be a fascinating focal point in your media or music room. You can choose to place it in the ceiling or on the wall just above your piano. You can also add a line or two of your favorite song to further accentuate the decor.
