Many parents like to decorate their kids' rooms with a cute theme. This is probably not a good idea unless money is no object, since kids grow quickly and tastes change. If you don't mind spending a lot on a new theme every few years, that's O.K., but most people can't or don't want to spend that kind of money. Better to have a neutral room so where you don't have to throw the old stuff away constantly. Just look around at garage sales some day. You will see entire rooms of so-called "themes" going for ten cents on the dollar.
Hopefully you'll at least feel happier that you have started on your decorating project and your kids will certainly be happier for having their rooms redone, and then there's also the sheer fun you'll have had whilst working with them. This last is of course a little tongue in cheek because decorating kids rooms generally isn't hassle or stress free. On the contrary there's a strong possibility that you'll have had a boatload more stress by the time you've finished, but at least you'll have had the satisfaction of getting closer to your kids and seeing their rooms clean for at least one day before they get back into their normal routine.
Children's bedrooms can easily become overcrowded along with games, toys, equipments, and collections. Every thing that speaks of activity contributes to keeping the room "awake". Childhood is jam-packed of surprise and magic. Every one child deserves an environment that stimulates the mind and provides fantastic memories for years to come! Children change dramatically from one year to the subsequently, and their tastes loose change along with them. Focus your plan on the basics - dresser, bed frame, mattress - when decorating kids' rooms.
