When adding throw pillows into the mix it is always safest to go with a somewhat limited color palette and big geometric patterns. Textures such as cotton and linen are the best fabrics though silk throw pillows do have a place in certain modern settings. If you really like a lot of color then the best bet is to snatch the color palette from an existing piece of art or "busy" decorative item.
Children love pillows as much or maybe even more than their parents. Now there are all kinds of kids novelty pillows available so they can sleep with their favorite cartoon character or TV hero, adding to their sense of comfort and security throughout the night. Kids, however, are not the only ones who have a favorite pillow. Most families know that each family member will claim a pillow on the bed or on the couch and claim it as theirs! Those pillows just seem to fit them in all the right places to add to their sense of well-being and comfort.
So now that we've considered the different types of stuffing for pillows, let's get down to business and do the actual preparation and sewing part. For preparation, let's collect the materials first. Since the pillow is such a simple project, not many materials are required. Start off with the fabric for the pillow, and your choice of a form or fiberfill. Then get some matching thread, some hand needles and a couple of pins, scissors, and perhaps something to mark your fabric with.
