Mirrors are a great tool to add depth and light to a room. A mirror in a room without windows will reflect the lights and make the room appear brighter. They can also open up a small space by giving the room the appearance of having more depth. Oversized mirrors are a great tool to fill a large wall, while mirrored sets can create a unique focal point over a couch, mantel or console table.
This is an ordinary mirror that is coated at the back surface with silver which produces images by reflection. The mirror is made by depositing a silver coating, copper film and two or more layers of waterproof paint. This makes the unit resistant to moisture and acids. Silver is known for its high degree of reflectivity thus it reflects all light wavelengths resulting to a high quality reflective surface. This results to it producing clear and actual images. The mirror is heavily used in bathrooms, furniture and other areas that need to be decorated.
Pick interesting shapes. Square is good, but unusually-shaped mirrors can add an extra element of interest to a room. Choose mirrors that are wavy, long and thin, diamond shaped or triangular. Instead of one or two large mirrors, create a mosaic of mirrors by using several smaller mirrors placed together. Look for different glass styles. Instead of a smooth mirror, hang a mirror with beveled edges. Another option is to use frosted mirrors. Hang a mix of framed and unframed mirrors.
