The fall season is upon us, time to break out the sweaters and jeans and put away the summer clothes. Now is the time to be out at night around a nice fire with family and friends cooking up some sweet snacks or tasty treats. Summer has finally given up its hold and relinquished control to cooler days and crisp nights. As the season's change so will the items we use to make our homes ours. With home decor fall decorations you can add rich colors, fall blooms, wall art and new scents. The leaves this time of year are changing colors and you will see red, orange-red, reddish-brown, yellow, brown-yellow, golden bronze and scarlet red. Of course the colors you see will depend on what trees and bushes you have in the area you live.
Your mantle will highlight your room so you want to decorate it accordingly. Outline or trim your mantle in leaf garland that can be picked up at any home decorating store. You can accent the mantle with a few candles that are brown in color. You don't want to place too many decorations on the mantle or it will look too crowded. Keep it simple and remember to only accent it. You want the rest of your room to blend in together with the mantle. Place a natural flokati rug down in front of the fireplace, but far enough away that it won't catch on fire when you are burning your wood. The flokati rugs are beautiful ad ca match with almost any decor. You ca also buy colored flokati rugs that can blend I with your decor. These rugs are also made from different material as well.
Now that you've softened the floor, dressed the sofa, and decorated the table it's time to add inspiration to the walls. Consider creating your own works of art by taking photos of fall imagery and framing them in handsome wood or elegant metals. Most home furnishings stores carry a wide selection of framed prints landscapes, still lifes, Impressionist visions, abstract contemporaries. Special cards and notes you have received can also make a lovely statement as a framed memento. Don't forget children's artwork to add color and whimsy. By using ready-made, standard frames you can change out the work as often as new pieces are brought from school! You can also frame up a host of non-paper elements; try a family heirloom quilt hung on a wall, or a needlepoint scene crafted over several months, elegantly framed. Perhaps you have collectibles that would benefit from shadow boxing, like tickets and programs from shows or sports memorabilia. Make it personal and flexible to suit your mood and the changing seasons.
