This is the final touch that all themed rooms need. There are many suppliers online that furnish a wide variety of themed "bed in a bag" sets which come with everything you need. The sheets, pillow cases, comforters and pillow shams are all included. If you cannot find one that has the theme on it, you can always choose the colors that are included in the decorations on the wall or the colors that the room is being painted.

Hopefully you'll at least feel happier that you have started on your decorating project and your kids will certainly be happier for having their rooms redone, and then there's also the sheer fun you'll have had whilst working with them. This last is of course a little tongue in cheek because decorating kids rooms generally isn't hassle or stress free. On the contrary there's a strong possibility that you'll have had a boatload more stress by the time you've finished, but at least you'll have had the satisfaction of getting closer to your kids and seeing their rooms clean for at least one day before they get back into their normal routine.

Before you begin digging out the decor from last year, consider these possibilities.

Any mirrors will do, even those from the local dollar store. A whole house can often be re-decorated with mirrors for under a thousand dollars. Decorating with mirrors can make a home's interior appear larger. This trick has long been used by professionals. Small homes can benefit greatly using this trick of the eye. Mirrors create the illusion of depth. Create perceived space by placing a large mirror or a row or mosaic of small mirrors on a wall. Place mirrors along opposing walls for even more depth.

A rug that will be in a high traffic area like a hallway or entry should use a thin, non slip pad. These pads typically are made of a rubber-like material and have a weave look to them. These grip hard surface floors very well, keeping your rug in place. You want a thin pad to prevent too much of a height difference to avoid any trip hazards and create a natural flow when walking. If you are putting it under a rug in a living room that will be creating more cushion and sound absorption, then you will want to use a thicker pad, possibly one made from a felt material. You can even find pads that are meant for use with outdoor area rugs which usually come mildew resistant. If you are using a rug to carpet application you will want to buy a pad that is made specifically for that.

Venetian blinds, solid undecorated sheers, and boldly printed or monochromatic curtains are some great trends in contemporary design. Ample sunlight always compliments the clean look of modern home interiors so there is no need to be shy of natural light. Avoiding valances and utilizing crisp modern fabrics is a great start for contemporary window treatments.

Hunt for your unique pieces. You don't need to spend a lot of money in your mirror, or buy it straight from the furniture store. Mirrors come in all shapes, styles and sizes and can be found anywhere from discount retailers and garage sales to flea markets. They should be chosen based on the size and decor of your room. Full-length mirrors make a room seem larger. A full-mirrored wall will optically expand and add glamour to a room. Consider adding a folding screen of mirrored panels to the corner of a room to add light and dimension. Just glue molding around each full-length mirror and secure each side with hinges.

Basically it's what you commonly think of as stuffing; the stuff that they put inside stuffed animals and pillows. It's pros contain that it's inexpensive and can be found almost anywhere. Those are two very important features. The one con that I can think of off the top of my head is that it's sometimes hard to get it stuffed in evenly. It's sometimes thinner in a certain place than it is in the rest of the pillow. Or several lumps and bumps throughout. But practice does make better, that's for sure. You can also control the firmness of the pillow. That's another pro. Plus, you can make the pillows in absolutely any size you want. That's just that much more control. With a form, you can only make a pillow in the sizes that they offer the form.
