French country or rural country can be varied in styles and yet have that cozy charm. However, one common feature is the multiple paned windows of the length of the walls known as French windows. These can even be used like doors. This style loves the kitchen to be big, spacious and comfortable, with windows for sunlight and thick beams and polished stone or tiled floors. This design often entails large drawing rooms typically with a fire-place.

They can be of landscapes, still art, animals, people and beyond. Furthermore, photographs can now be digitally altered, making the possibilities for photographic wall decor endless.

I get many decorating ideas from reading home magazines or from visiting the websites of professional interior designers that show portfolios of their design projects. These are a couple of the places I look to for inspiration to decorate my home. I notice how furniture is arranged in living room spaces, the color palettes being used and take note of the accent furnishings that complete the décor.

In a traditionally built house, the walls will most often be square, and symmetrical, with doors and windows placed at geometrically straight locations, in line with one another. More contemporary floor plans will usually call for an open space design, in which there are only a few walls, and most of the space flows naturally into itself.

Using accent pieces to spruce up your home shouldn't create a cacophony of various artifacts that just end up needing a good dusting every week. So, if you start with the basics and then work your way from there you can enhance your home without cluttering it.

If you live in a flat with a window facing the other flat you will need to have blinds that will completely block out any view from the outside. However, if you are in a country house with the windows facing the open vastness of the countryside you may want to have a window treatment that will permit a lot of vision from inside as well as there will be very few instances of someone looking in from outside.

Let's just say, for the purposes of an example, that I wanted to make a throw pillow that's seven inches square. Now you need to add a half inch to each side (in other words, a whole inch.) That's the size you'll end up cutting your fabric. Mine will end up being eight inches. That gives you enough room to sew around the edges. Cut two pieces of fabric in this size, then place the two right sides together. Pin one side, making sure that the two pieces are secure. Then, using a basic running stitch, sew to the other end one half inch from the edge. Backstitch a few times before ending with a knot. Continue this around two of the other sides, leaving one side open.

Some of the scents I have seen are Autumn in the Park, Crisp Morning Air, Sweater Weather, Marshmallow Fireside, Pumpkin Pit Stop and Apple Tree Picnic. We cannot forget the flowers that bloom in the fall. These perennials are Aster, Red Spider Lily, Fall Crocus and Toad Lily and will be back year after year for our pleasure and enjoyment. Not to mention their decorative properties.
